Professional liability insurance is the liability insurance of a specialist in the event of property and other harm to third parties as a result of their professional activities. Since this type of insurance is voluntary, this means that all conditions can be agreed with the Insurance Company by agreement of the parties in accordance with the law.
Professional liability insurance provides legal entities and individuals who, by virtue of their professional activities, may turn out to be potential inflicters of harm, insurance protection against possible presentation of legal claims stipulated by law with acceptance of payment of such claims.
Professional liability insurance is usually divided into two groups:
- insurance of risks of possible bodily harm and harm to health. This risk category includes the professional activities of self-employed vehicle owners, doctors, pharmacists, obstetricians;
- insurance of risks of possible material, financial damage, including including loss of the right to present property claims (omissions in drawing up recourse law, omission of limitation periods, etc.). This risk category includes the activities of enterprise managers, architects, designers, engineers, etc.
The amount of the insurance premium payable under the Insurance Contract is calculated according to insurance rates that determine the rate of the insurance premium charged on the insurance amount, taking into account the insurance object and the nature of the insurance risk. Insurance premiums are paid in the national currency of the Republic of Kazakhstan - tenge.
